Free Download Khmer Unicode Keyboard Layout for Mac OSX (Apple Computer) (Video in Khmer)

Today, many people use Apple Mac computer (MacBook, iMac, Mac mini) and have a bit headache because hard to type Khmer Unicode. But don't worry! Today I show you how to install Khmer Unicode Keyboard Layout for Mac OSX step by step. Very easy, even beginner can do it!

If you use Apple Office apps like Pages (Word), Numbers (Excel), or Keynote (PowerPoint), Khmer Unicode typing works very smooth and no problem at all, based on my experience.

Step 1: Download Keyboard Layout File

First, we need to download Khmer Unicode keyboard layout file for Mac OSX from download link at bottom of this post.

Step 2: Copy File to System Folder

After download finish, open your Mac Finder:

1. Go to Macintosh HD > Library > Keyboard Layouts
2. Copy and paste the downloaded keyboard layout file inside Keyboard Layouts folder. That is how to install!

Step 3: Add Keyboard Layout in Settings

1. Go to System Preferences (or System Settings on new macOS).
2. Go to Keyboard > Input Sources.

1. Click on Plus Sign (+).
2. Type Khmer in search box or click on OTHER category.
3. Select Khmer keyboard and click Add button. That's it!

Now you get new Khmer Keyboard showing on top keyboard section bar. Please enjoy it!

💡 Useful Tips for Typing Khmer Unicode on Mac:

• Tip 1: Fast Shortcut to Switch Language

Press Control + Spacebar (or Control + Option + Spacebar) to change English and Khmer quickly without clicking mouse. On new macOS, you can also tap Globe (🌐) / Fn key!

• Tip 2: Recommended Fonts

Use fonts starting with Khmer OS... (like Khmer OS Battambang, Khmer OS System) or Kantumruy Pro. They render very clean on Mac Retina screen.

• Tip 3: MS Word vs Apple Pages

If Microsoft Word for Mac has subscript display problem (ជើងអក្សរ), try using Apple Pages or Google Docs in Safari/Chrome. It renders 100% correct!

• Tip 4: App Not Showing New Keyboard?

If keyboard not working after install, just restart your app or restart Mac computer one time.
