How to Install Khmer Unicode Fonts on Mac + Fonts Download (Video in Khmer)

Many friends ask me about how to install Khmer Unicode fonts on Mac computer (MacBook, iMac, Mac mini) because when they open document or type Khmer, it show square boxes 🔲 or question marks. Don't worry! Today I show you step-by-step, very easy, even beginner can do it!

📥 Step 1: Download Khmer Unicode Fonts for Mac

📂 Step 2: Extract Zip File & Open Font Book

1. After download finish, go to your Downloads folder on Mac.
2. Double-click the downloaded .zip file to extract font folder.
3. Open Font Book app on your Mac (Press Cmd + Space to open Spotlight, type Font Book, and press Enter).

⚙️ Step 3: Install Fonts on Mac OSX

1. Inside Font Book app, click on File menu at top bar > select Add Fonts... (or press Cmd + O).
2. Select all font files (.ttf or .otf) inside extracted folder (press Cmd + A to select all).
3. Click Open / Install button. Mac will check and install all Khmer fonts automatically!

💡 Useful Tips for Khmer Fonts on Mac:

• Tip 1: Restart Applications

If Microsoft Word, Pages, Google Chrome, or Photoshop does not show new Khmer fonts immediately, please quit app completely (Cmd + Q) and re-open it.

• Tip 2: Fix Square Boxes 🔲 Problem

If text in your document shows square boxes 🔲, highlight that text and change font style to Khmer OS, Khmer OS Battambang, or Kantumruy Pro.

• Tip 3: Recommended Fonts for Work

For formal document and office typing, use Khmer OS Battambang, Khmer OS System, or Kantumruy Pro. They display very clear and smooth on Retina screens!

• Tip 4: Need Khmer Keyboard Layout?

Installing fonts only lets Mac display Khmer text. To type Khmer letters, you also need to install Khmer Keyboard Layout! (See link below).
