Follow these super simple steps:
- Highlight text: Select paragraph or text you want to split.
- Click Layout: Go to Layout tab on top ribbon.
- Click Columns: Click Columns icon in Page Setup section.
- Choose layout: Select Two, Three, Left, or Right.
💡 Super Useful Tips for Columns
Tip 1: Shortcut for Column Break (Ctrl + Shift + Enter)
Want text to jump to top of next column immediately? Put your cursor before text, then press Ctrl + Shift + Enter.
Tip 2: Add Line Between Columns
To show vertical line between columns:
Go to Layout $\rightarrow$ Columns $\rightarrow$ More Columns... $\rightarrow$ check Line between box $\rightarrow$ click OK.
Tip 3: Highlight First Before Apply
Always highlight text first before click columns! If you no highlight text, Word apply columns to whole document.
