🎨 What is Shading in MS Word?

Shading mean putting background color behind text or full paragraph. It is like background color box, but more clean and custom than simple text highlight tool.

  • Text Shading: Fill color only behind selected words.
  • Paragraph Shading: Fill color for whole line or paragraph box from left margin to right margin.

🔲 What is Text Border?

Text Border mean put box line around your text or paragraph. You can choose box line style, line color, or line thickness!

  • Make heading stand out clearly in report.
  • Create notice box or summary box easily.

1. How to Apply Shading (Background Color):

  1. Select text or click inside paragraph you want to add color.
  2. Go to Home tab $\rightarrow$ find Paragraph group.
  3. Click bucket icon Shading ( paint bucket đŸĒŖ ).
  4. Pick any color you like!

2. How to Apply Text Border (Box Line):

  1. Highlight your text or paragraph.
  2. Go to Home tab $\rightarrow$ Paragraph group.
  3. Click Borders dropdown icon ( rectangle grid 🔲 ).
  4. Choose Outside Borders or Borders and Shading... for customize line style and color!

💡 Remove Shading or Border Tip: If you want to clear color or line box, highlight text again $\rightarrow$ click Shading bucket $\rightarrow$ choose No Color, or click Borders icon $\rightarrow$ choose No Border!
